FIA-F4 Japanese Championship Round 5 AUTOPOLIS

【# 6 Sasahara made pole to win】


FIA-F4 JAPANESE CHAMPIONSHIP Rd.5 was held at AUTOPOLIS (Oita-pref.) under beautiful weather, as if it was summer already.
It has been two years since a Super GT race was held here. Many of the young drivers are inexperienced on this circuit. 31 cars entered in this round. The ed result was # 6 Sasahara won with a Pole-to-win, 2nd: # 5 Oyu、3rd:# 1 Miyata.

【Qualifying


Qualifying began at 11:30, right on schedule, but them became difficult with two red flags during 30 minutes of qualifying.

On the other hand, between them, the top 5 drivers fought a heated battle (the time gap is only 0.500 seconds).

1st:# 6 Sasahara  1’50.427

2nd:# 8 Tsunoda  1’50.669

3rd:# 5 Oyu     1’50.696

4th:# 1 Miyata   1’50.713

5th:#60  Kawaai      1’50.873   

【RACE

 
This race (13 laps) started at 15: 45. # 8 Tsunoda, who qualified in 2nd position, had a bad start, dropping to 10th position. On the second lap, #5 Oyu and #1 Miyata exchanged positions. # 5 Oyu showed his approach aggressively. The gap between the 2nd place narrowed and on the 5th lap, Oyu shortened the lap time difference between #6 Sasahara to only 0.765. However, #5 Oyu had issues with his undercarriage so was unable to pass #6 Sasahara.

By the end of the race, # 1 Miyata who was in 3rd place gradually narrowed the gap between him and Oyu to only 0.9 seconds from the Oyu. However, Oyu was victorious in the end and took the checkered flag.

Next Rd.6 Race will be start at AM9:30 tomorrow (MAY 21TH, 2017) in AUTOPOLIS.
