The Belgian Grand Prix

The Spa-Francorchamps circuit ; “undoubtedly is the best circuit in the world” according to seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher. The Belgian circuit was the best place to pay homage to the legendary driver.

This was done by his son Mick Schumacher, who took a few laps to the circuit with the Benetton with which he won his first world championship in 1994. The motive was the 25th anniversary of the first victory of the German driver in Formula 1, which it was in the Belgian Grand Prix.

But it was not the only time during the weekend that Michael Schumacher’s achievements were mentioned. Lewis Hamilton got a new pole record, his 68th to be exact. After surpassing Ayrton Senna this season, on Saturday he managed to equal Michael Schumacher with the most poles in history.

The truth is that the British driver had a good weekend. He maintained the lead throughout the race, only in the last laps after the Safety Car was out was his victory endangered. In addition to being named driver of the day, Hamilton left Spa with a good feeling and reaching closer to his rival Sebastian Vettel.

The other side of the coin was Max Verstappen. Despite being in front of his fans,  he did not get rid of the problems. His engine left him without options, when the Dutch pilot was in the fifth position. What unleashed his anger and made him declare that he was competing with Alonso for the number of dropouts. While his teammate Ricciardo managed to climb to the third position of the podium.

Ferrari again demonstrated that in matters of strategy they’re very advanced. After the Safety Car, they mounted the ultra-soft tyres to Sebastian Vettel, who was in second position. Mercedes had no more and put the super-soft tyres to Hamilton.

Thanks to the skill of the English driver and the power of the Mercedes car, they got the victory. But Vettel was very close to stealing the victory. The next battle will be in front of the fans of the Ferrari team.

Force India was the cause of the famous Safety Car that could’ve taken the victory away from Hamilton. Their drivers were once again engaged in a battle that did not benefit anyone. It started in Canada and I doubt it will end here.

Not content with hitting the exit, they hit again during the race. That broke the front wing of Ocon and punctured Perez’s wheel. The team must take action and solve this situation internally. We all know that the first enemy is your teammate, you must beat him to prove that you are better than him, but without harming the interests of your team. Hopefully, Force India will be able to solve this situation
